Stars set for language event

Cherokee actor Wes Studi, Navajo singer Dephine Tsinajinnie and Apache comedian extraordinaire Drew Lacapa are among the guests slated for the fourth annual Native Youth Language Fair, Poster Contest and Intertribal Powwow.

The event is designed to recognize young Natives who are preserving their language and culture. The Indigenous Language Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is hosting the affair, which will take place April 6 at the Santa Fe Indian School.
