'Reds' mascot in Colo. opposed

TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2002 A group of Native Americans in Colorado is calling on Eaton High School to get rid of its "Reds" logo, which features an Indian man with a large nose and a feather in his hair. The detractors say the logo is offensive to Native people. They hope the issue can be brought up at a school board meeting February 11. The school says the logo is not demeaning. Get the Story:
