Students in northern New Mexico who participated in a riot at Española Valley High School face expulsion and other punishment.

Principal Beverly Averitt said 28 students face disciplinary action for the February 28 fights which brought in law enforcement from four jurisdictions. A final decision on the students has not been made, however.

The school serves students from nearby San Juan Pueblo and others from area reservations.
