THURSDAY, APRIL 25, 2002

Everything about the National Museum of the American Indian under construction in Washington, D.C., will be Native.

Donna House, a Navajo ethnobotanist who lives is San Juan Pueblo in New Mexico, is working with landscapers to create what she calls a "habitat" for the museum. The habitat will recreate a pre-Colombian environment using Native plants and other items from the Northeast.

The museum is set to open in 2004.
