The state of Nevada on Wednesday shut off water to the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste project.

The water was shut-off because the state denied permits to the Department of Energy. But there is a dispute whether the project has enough water to keep going.

The official party line is that a one million tank and well, plus a storage of 400,000 gallons, will last several months. But The Las Vegas Review-Journal uncovered an internal document filed as part of a court case which showed the project only has enough water to last 18 days under normal use conditions.
