Monkey thoughts guide computer

Research published in today's issue of Nature gives new meaning to that joke about a thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters.

A team from Brown University has discovered that a monkey can move a cursor on a computer screen just by thinking about it. Electrodes planted in a monkey's brain convert its thoughts into electronic signals, which are then used to achieve movement.
