Pequot drug court ready for use

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut has established its own drug court.

The tribe has received federal grants to plan and implement the court, whose goal is to treat substance abusers while keeping them out of jail. Tribes and local governments nationwide tout the successes of the courts in reducing crime and repeat offenses.
