Brothers' death raises questions

FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2002 Two Inupiat brothers who froze to death in Alaska may have been turned away from an Anchorage shelter. New policies prohibit stays longer than 30 days, depending on the facility. But officials at one shelter and others say Albert and Allen would not have been turned away if they showed up. The brothers were found dead in March. The official cause was "adverse effects of drugs." They had been out drinking. The brothers were from a large Inupiat family in Unalakleet. One brother was found dead in Anchorage in 1995. Get the Story:
