Former Pueblo leader indicted for theft

THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2002 A former governor of Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly embezzling $8,000 from the tribe. Ronald D. Shutiva allegedly stole the money in two separate incidents in January 1997. He was governor of the Pueblo in 1995, 1996 and 1997. Get the Story:
