S.D. racial profiling bill killed

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2002 A measure to require law enforcement to collect data on racial profiling was one of 10 major bills that didn't pass the South Dakota Legislature, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports today. The paper cites the bill, which would have been used to determine whether Native American motorists are unfairly targeted, in its list of significant bills. Five Native lawmakers introduced the measure. The legislative session ended Saturday. Get the Story:
