Man fights Pequot tribal court

THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 2002 A non-Indian man is asking a federal court to award him $158,000 for what he claims was a lost jackpot at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut. Vasilios Milios said he won the money in a round of poker but casino officials disputed. He took his case to the tribe's court system and was denied. Unsatisfied, he hopes to topple the tribe's court system. Civil lawsuits affecting non-Indians and criminal cases for Indians are decided by the tribal courts. Get the Story:
