Native man leading airport security

MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2002

A member of the Cherokee Nation has been appointed as the federal security director at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in Texas.

Jim Wooten, a former special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, was sworn in by Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta. He is the current president of the National Native American Law Enforcement Association.
