A Native ceremony will be held on Friday when the state of Oklahoma adds the names of fallen officers to its Law Enforcement Memorial.

State Sen. Enoch Kelly Haney, a member of the Seminole Nation, will speak at the event in Oklahoma City. A total of 12 officers, including two who served the Cherokee Nation, will be added.

One of the Cherokee officers was a member of the Cherokee Lighthorsemen, an historic tribal police force. John M. Brown was killed on duty in 1845.
