Three tribes compete for stadium

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2002 The Arizona Tourism and Sports Authority has narrowed down candidates to host a new $350 million Arizona Cardinals football stadium, three of which are being offered by tribes. The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the Gila River Indian Community and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation have made proposals. These tribes are on the east side of the metropolitan Phoenix area. The authority is set to select a site by March 1 in order to begin construction by August 1. Get the Story:
