In what is being hailed as a sign of the times, the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority will likely select a tribe as a finalist for an Arizona Cardinals stadium.

Three tribes have submitted plans. Of the three, the Salt-River Pima Maricopa's proposal appears to be gaining the most interest.

In the past, doubts over tribal sovereignty and financing probably would have kicked tribes out of the running. But advantages to a tribal location are being acknowledged.
