Tribes prevail on casino audits

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2002 A judge in Minnesota ruled on Tuesday that casino audits submitted by the state's tribes are private. Ramsey County District Judge Louise Bjorkman said the audits contain trade secrets and ordered the Minnesota Department of Public Safety not to release them. The tribes submit the audits, which contain financial and other data, to the department under compacts they signed with the state. The ruling affects several tribes, all of which opposed making the reports public. Get the Story:
