The retired former president and CEO of Cook Inlet Regional Inc., an Alaska Native regional corporation, is planning a comeback.

In a letter to CIRI shareholders, Roy Huhndorf and four others declared their bids to join the corporation board. Ruffling some feathers in the process, they accused current management of financial ineptitude and suggested hard times are ahead.

Huhndorf led CIRI for 21 years. He retired in 1998.

Four seats on the CIRI board are up for grabs. An election will be held June 1.
