Four candidates seeking the Democratic gubernatorial nomination are supporting extended compacts with tribes in the state.

The Green Party candidate made a similar pledge at a meeting held by the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council on Monday. Tribal compacts begin expiring with the state and are pushing renegotiation.

Current Gov. Scott McCallum does not oppose existing gambling but is against expansion. The Madison Capital Times reports that his popularity is sagging.
