The parties to a lawsuit over Native voting rights are asking a federal judge for an extension.

The lawsuit affects Blaine County in Montana. A federal judge said the commissioner districts violated the rights of Native Americans on the Fort Belknap Reservation and ordered the county to come up a new map.
