Report card grades Congress web sites
MONDAY, JANUARY 28, 2002

The Congress Online Project, an initiative funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts, today will release the results of its "report card" on the web sites offered by members of Congress.

But according to a preview provided to The Washington Post, there isn't much to e-mail home about. Of all 605 web sites for House and Senate members, committees and leadership offices, only 10 percent received grades of A or B, the paper reports.

Meanwhile, 90 percent got grades of C or below. These sites failed to provide timely content, engaged in over self-promotion and took too long to download.

The report will be on the project's web site by 1 p.m. today.
