Job Summary
Manages and oversees the Gas company personnel and equipment so that the company shows a profit and excellence customer service is provided to all customers.
This position description may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found or assigned to this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Ensures appropriate departmental staffing levels based on efficiency and cost effectiveness; yet, maintaining operational requirements as dictated by internal controls and management.
 Develops weekly staffing schedule and ensures employees are ready to work shift.
 Establishes implements and communicates goals, objectives, policies and procedures in accordance with strategic plan.
 Improves staff effectiveness by hiring, counseling, training, and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.
 Oversees safeguarding of assets and equipment.
 Achieves financial objectives by preparing and administering the annual budget, inclusive of operational plans and objectives and recommends staffing and expenditures.
 Evaluates all programs to plan and implement priorities to meet the needs of the community and grants.
 Seeks grants and funding for the program; manages all contractual agreements between federal, state and local agencies.
 Ensures and set sales pricing for propane and gas.
 Monitors levels of gasoline and propane to ensure customer’s order can be filled.
 Ensures trucks and equipment are in safe working order and meet all regulations and compliance.
 Reviews and approves all billing to ensure they are correct prior to distribution.
 Reviews and approves all purchases to ensure they are correct prior to distribution.
 Ensures that all company propane activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
 Establishes and maintains satisfactory customer and public relations, through direct or delegated contracts with respective individuals or groups.
 Actively seeks new commercial and residential customers.
 Reviews and maintains all assets; conducts inventory on all tools, equipment and machinery.
 Prepares, arranges or delivers training to personnel to maintain compliance and enhance skills.
 Performs other duties and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
 High School Diploma or GED
 Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
 5 years of management experience
 Five years or more years in the propane industry, including some responsibility leading other employees.
 Experience with truck and maintenance repair.
 DOT regulations and FMCA regulations license required.
 CID Propane License.
 Must have a valid NM Class-B driver’s license with hazmat and tanker airbrakes endorsement.
 Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
 Must be able to pass medical examine required for DOT CDL license if needed
Tribal preference and Native American Indian preference shall apply.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Knowledge of safety operations and procedures, safety methods and practices.
 Knowledge of applicable federal, state, tribal, county and local laws, regulations and requirements.
 Knowledge of propane tanks.
 Knowledge of road, DOT, IFTA and FMCA codes.
 Knowledge of ruby/sapphire gas system and repair
 Knowledge of repair of furnaces, water heaters, stove, boilers and propane tanks.
 Skill and operation of Class B trucks.
 Skills providing leadership to, supervising, training and evaluating staff.
 Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets and database software programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
 Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate course of action.
 Ability to be on-call and work after hours.
 Ability to respond to and remain calm in an emergency or crisis situations.
 Ability to exercise independent judgment.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
 Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
 Ability to use good judgment and foresight.

Work Environment
Work is generally performed both in an office setting with a moderate to high noise level and outdoors where exposure to natural weather conditions and various dusts and mists may occur. Evening, weekend, and /or holiday work will be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts will be required.
