Leader of Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation faces removal

The leader of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation in the Yukon faces removal from his job.

Band members became upset when Chief Eddie Skookum was arrested on domestic violence and drunken driving charges in Alaska. They also say he was arrested in Nevada on similar charges.

An elders' council voted to keep Skookum in office. But the Yukon Supreme Court said the process violated the band's constitution.

Members will now meet February 18 to consider Skookum's future.
