First Nation to open first native casino in Alberta

The Enoch Cree Nation of Alberta has gained approval to open the first casino in the province.

The tribe plans to build a $127 million complex in Edmonton. The facility would include a casino, a hotel, two skating rinks, two indoor soccer fields and retail stores. The development is expected to create 700 jobs.

Alberta Gaming, the province's regulatory agency, approved a gaming license for the Cree Nation.
