The Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska released details of a proposed off-reservation casino in Wichita, Kansas.
Former Wichita Mayor Bob Knight presented the plan on Saturday. He said the 39-acre site would host a casino, a 300-room hotel, a convention center, three restaurants, a 2,500-seat event center and an indoor-outdoor water park.
The project is expected to cost at least $200 million and will create 1,500 construction jobs and employ 2,500 people when it is finished.
The tribe needs to negotiate a compact and ask for the land to be placed in trust.
