The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Oregon has purchased a golf course next to its casino resort but has no plans at this time to take the course into trust.
The Lakeside Golf Course and Health Club is next to the complex. With its purchase, the tribe now owns a contiguous section of land from all around the casino. Last year, the tribe bought a hotel next to casino.
Siletz Chairwoman Dee Pigsley said the tribe will continue to pay property taxes on the golf course.
