Non-Indian racetrack reports gaming proceeds

The first non-Indian racino in Oklahoma reported strong proceeds in its first nine days of operation.

Remington Park said gamblers lost nearly $1.6 million on the track's 650 electronic machines. "It has surpassed my projections," the general manager told The Oklahoman. The state's share was $158,809.

Blue Ribbon Downs, the racino owned by the Choctaw Nation, also reported revenues but the figures won't be released until Friday. The tribe has previously said projections won't be met because gamblers don't like the 250 electronic machines installed at the facility.

A third racino, Will Rogers Downs, owned by the Cherokee Nation, opened last week.
