"The Lytton Band of Pomo Indians is expected to unveil its new "scaled-down" Casino San Pablo plan today -- and it's only about the size of your typical Ikea, plus a cruise ship terminal thrown in for good measure.
The new shrink-to-fit plan -- which will be presented at a special meeting of the San Pablo City Council -- comes in at 342,000 square feet, or roughly the size of Emeryville's Ikea store (247,000 square feet) plus the cruise ship terminal (100,000 square feet) being planned for San Francisco's waterfront.
"Whoa! Are they serious?'' said Assemblywoman Loni Hancock, D-Berkeley, a critic of the casino expansion, when told of the plan."
