Morongo Band wants younger set to visit new casino

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians wants a younger, more "hip" crowd to hang out at its new $250 million casino.

The N9NE Group operates the facility's sleek restaurants and clubs, modeled after the Palms Casino in Las Vegas that attracts young gamblers. Tribal leaders chose the group after visiting the Palms "repeatedly," The Wall Street Journal reported.

The casino opened in December so it's too early to tell whether the effort is having success. But a co-owner of N9NE Group says business hasn't been as good as expected.
