New Mexico tribal gaming grew by 12.1 percent


New Mexico's Indian gaming industry grew by 12.1 percent in 2004, the state Treasurer's Office reported.

The state collects revenue figures from 11 tribes with Class III gaming compacts. In the last quarter of 2004 alone, revenues rose 14 percent.

The compacts require the tribes to share a portion of slot machine revenues with the state.
