Michigan tribe sued by investor over casino deal

A Michigan tribe that negotiated an $80 million casino settlement is being sued by an investor who says he is owed half of the amount.

The Lac Vieux Desert Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians settled with the owners of Detroit's three casinos after the federal courts repeatedly ruled in the tribe's favor. The court said the tribe was wrongly denied a chance to bid on the casinos.

Don H. Barden, an owner of casinos in other states, claims he negotiated the deal that ended the lawsuit. He says agreed to pay him half of the settlement amount but only gave him $1.5 million.
