The Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribe opened a $7.9 million hotel at its casino near Watertown, South Dakota.
The 54,000-square-foot, 92-room hotel is the first phase of a five-year expansion at the Dakota Sioux Casino. Future plans call for a water park, a bowling alley and a 1,500-seat indoor concert facility.
Total costs of the expansion are estimated at $17 million. The tribe hopes it can install additional slot machines under its compact with the state.
