An initiative to allow taller buildings, including a taller casino, on the Salt River Reservation in Arizona was approved by 64 percent on Monday.
Members of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community pushed to increase the height limit on buildings. They say a taller casino hotel will lead to more gaming revenues.
The initiative allows a new 15-story hotel at the Talking Stick casino. It also allows taller buildings along a major freeway and increases building density.
