A second proposal for a ballot initiative to legalize Class III gaming in Nebraska was filed on Tuesday.
Boyd Gaming, a gaming company based in Las Vegas, is seeking approval for three casinos. The revenues would go to education.
The petition needs 115,000 signatures to appear on the ballot. It is competing with one filed by three Nebraska tribes, who are proposing to build a Class III off-reservation casino.
