Leaders in Johnston, Rhode Island, signed a temporary deal with gaming mogul Donald Trump as they develop a final agreement on a casino plan.
Trump says Rhode Island is a large, untapped gaming market. He is hoping to compete against the Narragansett Tribe for a casino license in the state.
The tribe is seeking a constitutional amendment to allow its casino. Some lawmakers are suggesting that the proposal be opened up to other bidders.
