The Jamul Indian Village in southern California is preparing a new environmental impact report for its on-reservation casino.
The tribe plans to build the casino in two phases. First up would be a casino, office and parking structure about 11 to 12 stories high. About three of the stories would be underground.
The second phase would include a 400-room hotel that could rise as high as 20 floors or more.
The tribe was seeking federal approval for a casino at another site but decided to build the casino on the reservation after encountering delays for the past six years.
