BIA to close comment period on Cowlitz Tribe casino

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is closing the comment period on the Cowlitz Tribe's proposed casino in Clark County, Washington.

The tribe, recognized through the Bureau of Indian Affairs process in 2000, is seeking to acquire 152 acres for an initial reservation. The tribe is proceeding under an exemption for newly recognized tribes in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
