Class II rules would help Oklahoma, not tribes

New Class II rules proposed by the National Indian Gaming Commissioncould send more tribal gaming revenues to the state of Oklahoma.

The rules would reclassify certain games as Class III. Under the tribal-state compact, Oklahoma tribes would have to share revenues from these machines with the state.

Last year, tribes shared $9.3 million, a figure far lower than the $71 million originally predicted. But the new rules, if implemented, could bring in an additional $75 million.
