The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is seeking to build a $1.2 billion in Biloxi, Mississippi.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the state changed its laws to allow some land-based casinos. But the tribe has been looking at Biloxi for "some time," the president of Foxwoods Development Company told The Norwich Bulletin.
The Foxwoods in Biloxi would be built on 266 acres and would include condominiums, a casino, retail shops, restaurants, a hotel and spa.
Currently, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians operates two land-based casinos in the state.
