Opposition hurts Eastern Shawnee casino push

$stalker Opponents appear to be slowing down the Eastern Shawnee Tribe's push to open casinos in Ohio.

The tribe, based in Oklahoma, filed a land claim in Ohio. The tribe says it will drop the suit in exchange for gaming rights.

But the Canal Fulton city manager says he won't move forward with an agreement because preliminary results of a poll show the majority of residents oppose the casino.

And trustees in another location, Lawrence Township, voted 2-1 to oppose the tribe's casino.
