Dry Creek Band puts casino expansion on hold

After announcing plans to scale back an expansion of the River Rock Casino, the Dry Creek Band of Pomo Indians of California has put the entire project on hold.

The tribe planned a $600 million upgrade but earlier this week said the project was scaled down to $126 million. But the smaller project is being postponed because the tribe can't find the money in the tight financial market.

"The market is what the market is," Chairman Harvey Hopkins told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat.

Revenues at the casino have declined in recent months.
