Fort Mojave Tribe continues casino negotiations

The Fort Mojave Tribe and the city of Needles, California, continue to negotiate a casino agreement in hopes of placing it before voters on November 4.

Talks seemed to have stalled in recent weeks so Chairman Tim Williams asked the city to expedite an agreement. The tribe says it will pay for municipal services but some costs are in dispute, The Mohave Valley News reported.

The tribe submitted a land-into-trust application for the gaming site in August 2004. Williams has said he hopes to receive final approval for the project before a new president enters the White House.
