Ohio voters reject non-Indian casino referendum

Voters in Ohio soundly rejected a proposal for a $600 million non-Indian casino on Tuesday, The Cincinnatti Enquirer reports.

Issue 6 was trailing 61 percent to 39 percent, according to preliminary results. The Associated Press said the referendum would not pass.

Some opponents were worried the referendum would open the door to tribal casinos, though experts questioned the claim.
