Sen. Gillibrand places Oneida Nation casino in wrong city

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) supports on-reservation and off-reservation gaming in New York but she got the location of the Oneida Nation casino wrong in a recent public appearance.

Gillibrand said the Turning Stone Resort and Casino was located in Rome. It's actually about 10 miles away in Verona.

"I think she said Rome because that was the closest city near there that she knew everybody in the room would recognize," explained a spokesperson, who told The Utica Observer-Dispatch that Gillibrand didn't necessarily make a mistake.

Gillibrand made the comments in support of off-reservation casinos in the Catskills region of New York.
