Warm Springs Tribes expect to open new casino in January

The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation in Oregon will open a new casino by the end of January 2012.

The Indian Head Casino is located close to a major highway. It replaces the nearby Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Casino.

The tribe amended its Class III gaming compact to cover the new site. The Bureau of Indian Affairs approved the compact last month.

The tribe is still hoping to open an off-reservation casino.
