Clinton Pattea: Indian gaming has been beneficial to Arizona

"This Arizona centennial year also marks 10 years since Arizona tribes signed new gaming compacts with the state.

These compacts provided an avenue for tribes to share gaming revenues with all Arizonans. As of February, tribes have contributed more than $757 million to benefit education, trauma and emergency care, wildfire conservation and business development through tourism promotion.

These real, hard dollars have flowed to our state in good times and bad. In addition, tribes provide funding to cities, towns and counties for essential needs and give generously to hundreds of charities that make life better for all Arizonans."
