A fire completely destroyed a trailer that the Shinnecock Nation of New York was using for its gaming activities.

The fire apparently started early this morning. By the time crews arrived, the trailer was "fully engulfed" in flames, Southampton Fire Department Chief Dennis Roy told Southampton Patch.

Authorities are investigating the cause. No one was injured and no other structures were damaged -- the tribe's community center is nearby.

The tribe has been seeking to open casinos ever since winning federal recognition in October 2010.
