There won't be any labor union battles at the $825 million casino opened by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria in California this week. That's because Chairman Greg Sarris insisted on a union-friendly Graton Resort and Casino. Union jobs were used during construction and a union is starting a labor drive among employees. "The union thing was a deal breaker for everyone else," Sarris told The San Francisco Bay Guardian. "But it was my way or the highway on that one." The casino employs 2,200 people.
