Oneida Nation announces $100M retail development for casino

The Oneida Nation of New York announced plans for a $100 million retail complex at its casino.

The 250,000 square-foot center at the Turning Stone Resort Casino will feature about 60 stores. It also will include a movie theater and a bowling alley.

“We’re excited to bring the first luxury retail outlet to Central New York, offering local guests and tourists from around the country a comprehensive shopping and entertainment experience," Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said this morning.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2015 and the complex is due to open in fall 2016. The tribe said the project will create 1,100 construction and permanent jobs.

The developer is the Gordon Group, a company that's building an outlet center at the casino owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut.
