The 20th annual Western Indian Gaming Conference kicks off today.

The California Nations Indian Gaming Association hosts the annual event. This year's gathering is being hosted by the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians.

“Holding the WIGC on a tribal property is extremely important to the CNIGA leadership,” Rincon Chairman Daniel J. Tucker said when the conference was announced.

Topics on the agenda include Internet gaming, a hot issue in the state. Tribes are divided on legislative proposals to legalize online poker games.

The conference concludes Thursday.
