The California Nations Indian Gaming Association has named Lee Acebedo, former chairman of the Jamul Band of Kumeyaay Indians, as its executive director.
Acebedo recently lost a bid for re-election as chairman of his tribe. He is a Vietnam veteran who has worked for various tribes. "I am honored to have been selected for the position of executive director. I am excited by the opportunity to be of service to the member tribes of CNIGA. I am looking forward to assisting tribal leadership and welcome the chance to work through the issues and challenges facing Indian gaming," he said in a press release [CNIGA].
